:
This study is based on the assumption that the blending between ceramic material and other artistic materials would lead to the development of the creative thinking and the enrichment of expression in the artistic field of ceramic, it would also lead directly to the development and enrichment of the ceramic shape in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The study examines the potentials of blending the different materials through different ages until the present time. It also touches on exhibiting the Saudi ceramic heritage and the culture, customs and traditions it represents, which are the reflection of the Saudi people needs, to clarify the technical and intellectual contexts reflected in the form and ornamentation of the traditional ceramic works in which the use of form functional supplements in different materials is clear, with the result of producing forms with different blends. Consequently, the study was directed towards the possibility of making use of the Saudi ceramic heritage to coin ceramic shapes using the blending techniques in the contemporary thought through carrying out the personal experience of the researcher with contemporary means to enrich the artistic ceramic work.
